Haier Group and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) officially reached an agreement on February 5. In the next three years, both parties will have in – depth cooperation in the “Social and Emotional Learning Program for Students on Campus” and take caring actions in three provinces and three counties of Western China to show their common concern about the education and mental health problems of left – behind children in total areas. CEO Zhang expressed in the signing ceremony that over the 30 years since the start of the business, Haier has continuously focused on the development of education. And the education problem for left – behind children has become a closely watched social problem, so he hopes that the cooperation between the two parties can better promote the educational development for the children. Ms. Gillian Mellsop, a representative from the UNICEF Representative Office in China said Haier’s participation in the “Social and Emotional Learning Program for Students on Campus” had set a good example for the whole society to pay attention to and solve the education and mental health problems of left – behind children.
