China's Most Valuable Brands List Released in New York
Haier tops the list for the seventh consecutive year with a brand value of RMB 80.3 billion; Haier CEO Zhang Ruimin becomes one of the First Brand Founders in China.
On December 1 of American time, China's Most Valuable Brands List for 2008 was released in New York, the United States. Haier, valued at RMB 80.3 billion, topped all Chinese brands for the seventh consecutive year, which was followed by Lenovo, at RMB 68.2 billion. In 2007, Haier harvested a brand value of RMB 78.6 billion.
Research on China's Most Valuable Brands started in 1995, jointly studied and released by R&F and Beijing Famous-Brand Evaluation Co., Ltd. It is a value research program focused on consumer brands that has the longest history in China.. Haier CEO Zhang Ruimin was included as well as other 7 entrepreneurs in the first list of Brand Founders in China. On the list of the Brand Characters of the Year announced on the conference for the first time was Haier President Yang Mianmian along with other 8 laureates.
Reportedly, at least 100 representatives of American enterprises also attended the conference, in hopes of knowing more about Chinese brands and meanwhile seeking cooperation opportunities with Chinese counterparts.
