South Korean President Lee Myung-bak Pays a Visit to Haier Group
Under the accompany of Mr. Jiang Daming, Governor of Shandong Province and other leaders, South Korean President Lee Myung-bak led a delegation for a visit to Haier Group on May 30. The delegation was received by Haier CEO Zhang Ruimin and President Yang Mianmian.
At Meeting Room 205, the Central Building, Zhang briefed President Lee Myung-bak on the business growth of Haier. Zhang said, "I have the pleasure to introduce Haier to you in three simple sentences: Haier is China's number one white goods company ranking the fourth in the world; Haier is always challenging itself for new goals and never rests on its past successes; Since Haier is on a fair playing ground with other global industrial leaders that are much stronger, our target is to be one of these lions!"
President Lee said: "I am glad to be here to visit this most representative Chinese home appliances producer; I appreciate very much the introduction by Mr. Zhang Ruimin. Instead of resting on its laurels, Haier has never stopped its pursuit of greater success. Haier is not only a household name in China but also well-known in South Korea and the world at large. There is an increasing demand for the products of Haier from the international market. Wish Haier greater success in the days ahead!"
President Lee Myung-bak was shown around the prototype pavilion and showcase corridor of the central building. Before bidding farewell to CEO Zhang Ruimin, the president said, "This visit brings me deeper understanding about Haier. I will remember you for sharing with me the biggest changes going on in China. Thank you!"
